All Dressed Up With Nowhere To Go...

See how happy I look in this picture?  My husband took this picture of me as we were on our way out to Downsview Park, Toronto for the Radiohead concert.  I was so excited because this was the first time I would be seeing the band after loving them for about 16 years.  Since we were not familiar with the opening act, and the event had between 35,000-40,000 in attendance, we decided to wait out the line up at the gates and arrive late.  We were out having dinner when a friend of my husband's messaged him to tell him that about an hour prior to gates open, the stage collapsed and numerous crew workers were injured with one fatality.

The concert was cancelled.  It was tragic.  I felt saddened for the families of the man who died and the others hurt.  I also felt badly for the out of town/Country travellers who paid travel and hotel expenses for the night.  I would be lying if I didn't feel terribly disappointed and sorry for myself as well, for missing out on an amazing experience.  (Though I know the in the grand scheme of things my let down of a night was a lot better than those who were given bad or devastating news)  I ended up listening to Radiohead on my IPod while giving myself a manicure on the front porch...BOO!
Since I planned on posting about my Radiohead concert style, I decided to go ahead and show you what I went with anyway.  So here are the pics of my outfit, accessories and hair:)
The beaded string cluster bracelet was a gift from my mother in law!
The chain necklace with pendant was made for me by my talented mother!
These boots were a birthday gift from my husband a few years ago.  Love Frye!
Manicure:
Black French Tip on Thumbs
Hair: Mermaid Braid with Waves...Here's the method to the madness
Products on damp towelled dry hair:
(Applied at roots only for added thickness)
(Applied down hair shaft and at ends for a little extra conditioning)
(Applied at roots and throughout hair for volume)
Products on dry hair:
(Sprayed on hair prior to curling)
(Finishing Spray)
(Glossy shine and delicious smell)
Styling Aids:
Okay, so before you all think I'm crazy, let me say that prior to being a stay at home mom, I was a Salon Coordinator for a Paul Mitchell Focus Salon.  I am crazy about PM, it is the only brand I will use on my hair because it works the best with the added benefit of being a company I truly believe in that goes above and beyond to ensure change is made in this world.  They also do not endorse or conduct any animal testing.  It's quite the list up there, but on an ordinary day, I would not necessarily use all or even half of these products.  Amazingly, all these products can be used without any gunky product feel.  LOVE!  Whew!  That was a mouthful;)

You look fantastic! I love everything. I read about the accident before the concert, and it was indeed very sad. I can understand your disappointment though, when you had been looking forward to it so much.
I also use Paul Mitchell products and find them consistently good.

I am so sorry to hear about that terrible tragedy at the concert. It's a good thing you had made plans to be late, though it is awful for those who didn't.

Oh honey, you are just too adorable! I love that entire outfit along with the accessories. Beautiful job. Hugs to you.
